In the 1970s, Richard Nixon, who infamously claimed that there were no votes to be garnered by pushing environmental legislation, signed some major legislation that impacted policies for over 40 years.
Now we have a lame duck who is content to pollute our planet with carbon from two Air Force One’s at a cost of $100 Million so that he can travel to Africa with his posse, so he can live up to a reputation of combativeness, partisanship, and refusal to accept points of view from those who actually control our nation’s energy resources. What happened to the Barry O’Bama that preached about restoring respect for our laws when he was running for something. Now, he appears to be running from something — he plans to spend the next three years outside our country — just gives a speech and splits?
Eisenhower came back to the U.S.A. to build an interstate highway system in the 1950s and actually accomplished what he said he would do.
Now, the U.S.A. is seen as a failed state because of those who don’t walk their talk; prefer the attitude of “my way or the highway,” and have squandered the opportunity to create a real legacy, as opposed to just being good at giving talks. . .
