These beliefs are probably pretty widespread in conservative groups. Our new Senator, Ron Johnson,was quoted earlier in the campaign as saying that the climate change we are experiencing is caused by sunspots, not human activity.
What seems strange to me is the corresponding belief that if climate change isn’t entirely caused by human activity, the potentially enormous problems that accompany it should be ignored and we should carry on as though it isn’t happening.
